Altered Book Niches Workshop
What is an altered book niche? Think shrine, display case, reliquary, memento holder, curio cabinet! Niches are hollow structures that you can make in a hardbound book to hide or display objects. Basically you glue a number of pages together then carve down into the book to remove the paper. Depending on the depth and shape of the niche, you can display favorite objects (like a vintage brooch, seashells, glass bottles filled with mysterious substances). Or you can choose your featured items to reflect a chosen theme for your altered book.
Altered Book Niches
is a two-day workshop that shows you how to make  niches in hardbound books. You will have the opportunity to explore several different themes in one or more books: "Wild Spirit", "Shrine-of -the Divine", or "The Secret Garden". $145 per person, payable by check, credit card, or PayPal. $15 materials fee payable at first class.
